Safeguarding Policy

St Mary Magdalene wishes to welcome everyone, including the most vulnerable, into the Church.  The Church takes its responsibilities seriously in keeping all safe from harm and abuse, and to responding well where it has happened in the past.

The Parish Leadership (the Parochial Church Council (P.C.C.) has accepted and adopted the Church of England 6 Safeguarding Policy Commitments and the Safeguarding Policy Statement “Promoting a Safer Church.”   Having taken into consideration local needs and the published Church of England safeguarding guidance and practice the P.C.C. has introduced a range of procedures for use within the Parish. All policies and procedures are reviewed regularly (at least annually) by the P.C.C.  Further information(including useful contact details), is displayed on the noticeboard, in the Parish Safeguarding File, in the Parish Safeguarding Handbook and the Promoting a Safer Church booklet all located in the Church porch.
